Sofia Carson Nude at the Cannes Film Festival
It’s easy to imagine celebrities in glitzy outfits, popping champagne bottles and endless parties. Sofia Carson is not your typical celebrity.
The Descendants actress is more than an actress. She is also a talented vocalist. Carson’s latest single is called Back to Beautiful. It’s an empowering and powerful song about love and pain.
The Look
Sofia Carson is a regular on the red carpet. This time, she brought Hollywood glamour to it with her emerald Elie Saab haute couture Spring 2024 gown. The Descendants actress attended the Cannes Film Festival’s Closing Ceremony on May 25, to promote her new film Top Gun: Maverick and as a L’Oreal Paris Ambassador. The actress wanted to channel the women who defined timeless Hollywood glamour, like Audrey Hepburn, when choosing her dress.
She finished the look with a matching pair of thigh-high boots and parted her raven hair to the side into a sleek, wrapped updo. For her beauty look, the actress opted for a glamorous cut-crease eyeshadow with striking winged liner and a fresh nude lip.
For the occasion, Carson turned to her favorite lipstick brand Revlon, which recently expanded their fan- (like, three generations of fans) – favorite Super Lustrous formula into matte lipsticks. The actress chose Sofia Red and Obsessed as they perfectly complement her radiant complexion. She also used the brand’s Panorama mascara, Colour Riche Satin lipstick in the pink mauve shade Worth It, and Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold hairspray to keep her updo sleek throughout the night.
The Hair
As an actress, Sofia Carson has spent most of her life in front of a camera. In fact, the Descendants and Perfectionists star has reportedly auditioned for more than 200 TV or movie roles over the years. She knows how to look stunning on the red carpet with a sleek faux-bob hairstyle.
The beauty icon made a statement with her sophisticated, shiny style at the 2023 MTV VMAs when she wore a cobalt Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture Fall 2022 sequin-embroidered gown and matching shoulder-padded Cape. She paired her high-shine outfit with a classic nude lipstick, dramatic smokey eyes, and her signature sleek, faux bob hairstyle. Celebrity stylist Caile Noble shared a photo of the star’s look on Instagram and broke down the step-by-step process for achieving Carson’s vintage glossy French twist, which included Dove hair products.
In addition to a shimmery foundation and a reflectively glossy finish, Noble’s recipe for Carson’s sleek updo featured Dove Style+Care Heat Protection Spray and Dove Hair Therapy 7-in-1 Miracle Mist. He used Dove Style+Care Flexible Hold Compressed Micro Mist Hairspray for a shiny, smooth hairstyle.
As for her striking, sweeping makeup look, Mitchell describes it as “a nod to Old Hollywood with strong yet delicate winged liner and a full set of false lashes that are so glamorous.” The rest of her red carpet glam includes a smoldering copper blush and a softly nude lip, all of which were applied using Dove Beauty products.
The Makeup
From dancing in recitals to starring on movie screens and Disney franchises, Sofia Carson is an actress that knows how to use makeup to tell a story. She recently teamed up with Revlon to launch a makeup collection of lipstick and nail polish shades that she loves.
The Descendants actress and beauty vlogger isn’t skimping on the quality of the products either. She’s releasing the Super Lustrous The Lucious Matte shade of her favorite lipstick, The Sofia Red as well as nude shades Obsessed, and Wish.
She also launched a set of two nail polish shades and four liquid matte lip colours that she created. We can’t wait for them to be released. The line will be available in stores and online starting Monday. The products are listed below. The Shoes
Sofia Carson, who got her start as the Evil Queen’s daughter Evie in the Descendants franchise, has had quite a few movie roles since. Most recently, she starred as April in Netflix’s Feel the Beat, a dance movie about a girl who wants to make it on Broadway. Carson threw on her dancing shoes for the flick and even had to get some help with one of the more elaborate dance numbers. Jessy Lippe, her former Austin & Ally co-star and friend, helped Carson with the dance numbers.
But while the film is a hit for Netflix, it has received some backlash due to its portrayal of a liberal aspiring musician who agrees to marry a Marine in order to get health insurance. In fact, the movie has been accused of being racist and military propaganda. Carson has addressed the backlash in a recent interview.
Despite the controversy, Carson remains an advocate for her film and is proud of the message that it sends. She also says that she hopes to continue telling stories that explore the darkness within. It’s what she did when she landed her breakout role in the cult-hit Descendants, and in Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.
